The Wine Festival was participated by the following: Philippine Wine Merchants, Ralph’s Wine, Masterchef Republic, Emperador Distillers and Titania Wine Cellars. During the event, I was able to taste first the Muscador wine and I find it really fine. When it hits your taste buds, there’s actually an after-taste – somehow like a fragrant scent of a fruit stuck on your throat to your nose. I just can’t explain, haha!

The second wine I’ve tasted was the Morande Gran Reserva that tastes so strong. I mean, I am really not a person who likes strong beverages, but somehow, if I pair the Morande Gran Reserva with the Ostrich Salpica, they both taste so perfectly great. And yes, I just mentioned the Ostrich Salpica, and it was the first time I’ve tasted an ostrich meat and it tastes like a beef steak. And during the tasting of the said wine as well, a crocodile finger was served and I can say that a crocodile meat tastes like a chicken and I did not expect that! 😀

The next wine I’ve tasted was the Montes Wine and it tastes so soothing on the throat. I feel like my sore throat went gone for a couple of minutes. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to taste the Montes Wine with the Crocodile Finger dish. I can sense that they can be a perfect pair.

The last wine I’ve tasted was the White Barefoot Moscato. It was the sweetest among all that I’ve tasted and it is definitely my favorite pick among all mentioned above. But beware, Just like lovers, sweets are just good in the beginning. This wine is a traitor, as they say. It may be sweet at first but it can make you drunk after a few shots.

You can try and visit the Wine Festival until February 19, 2017 at the Gourmet Walk, Lobby Level of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino. Savor it till the last drop.
